19 May 2018 14:00 U12 Boys v. Duffield

In a 4 hour epic contest Ashbourne best Duffield in Div 1 of the Derbyshire U12 boys Team Tennis League.

The team consisted of Noah Humphreys, Charlie Palfree, Aaron Joyce and Thomas Kaul who won 4 of the 6 rubbers, winning both doubles and with Noah and Aaron winning their singles.

All matches were really close - most going to 3 sets, or in Aaron's case 7-6,7-6!

Sue Joyce, the Ashbourne Captain, was delighted that the match was played in a really good spirit on a very warm, sunny afternoon

13 May 2018 14:00 16:00 Great British Tennis Weekend

Ashbourne Tennis Club held it's Spring Open Day on the afternoon of Sunday 13th May in glorious sunshine. It was part of a national event in conjunction with the LTA and was enjoyed by many children who also brought their parents along to have a go.

Victoria Brunton-Reed, the club's organiser, thanked all the volunteers and coaches for their gargantuan efforts.

We expect a large influx of new juniors next Saturday morning.

It was also the first attempt at the club's new sport, French Boules, supervised by our resident professional, Greg Brookes-Clayton.
